This carved marble sculpture is by Sebastian Martorana. It represents an impression left in a pillow made by his late father-in-law’s resting head, found after Martorana lifted his body from his deathbed.
The piece features in a show called “40 Under 40: Craft Futures” at the Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C. It is on display until 3rd February 2013.
